Approximately 44.6 percent of Black children in Milwaukee live below the poverty line, the third worst rate among large metro areas in the United States per a recent University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee study entitled The Status of Black Milwaukee. Statistics like the above illustrate just how hard it is for low-income Black youth to climb the economic ladder in Milwaukee. FIT CLUB MKE’s mission is to empower Milwaukee’s youth to become the leaders of tomorrow through fitness, education, financial wellness, and culturally responsive programming. But we need your help. Our goal is to provide exposure and access to academic and athletic programming that has traditionally been cost-prohibitive.
